This show brings the fun of a Branson show directly to you! Classic country, hilarious comedy, bluegrass, rockabilly and hand clappin’ gospel with your Branson co-hosts Debbie Horton & Donnie Wright.

Debbie Horton holds the distinction of being the only woman to have played lead guitar for the great Johnny Cash. She hosted her own show at the old BoxCar Willie Theater in Branson and has performed on the famous Louisiana Hayride and Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree in Nashville. She was a radio DJ at a major market radio station in Norfolk, Virginia and acted as MC for concerts with Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams, Jr., the Oak Ridge Boys, and many more. To her credit Debbie is an accomplished songwriter and has had her songs recorded by many country singers.

Donnie Wright is an expert, sought after, respected musician and arranger and is versatile on many instruments including fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo and bass. He is a veteran performer of stage and TV with a long list of successful performances including The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, The Presley’s Show in Branson, The Pine Mountain Jamboree in Eureka Springs, and a long-standing run at The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.

Brian Capps is a master upright bass player and sings songs reminiscent of Marty Robbins and Hank Williams.

Tribute to Joan Morrissey

A Tribute By Her Son Tom Morrissey and His Band, Plus Special Guests

Joan Morrissey is widely considered to be “Newfoundland’s First Lady Of Song  Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland on January 23, 1933, she was one of ten children. Entering the workforce at only thirteen years of age, she quickly moved up in the music industry of her home province of Newfoundland. Starting in the early 1960s, she began her career as a singer hosting and singing on local radio programs on CJON, VOCM, and CBC Radio.

With the success of her fourth album, “Home Brew” selling 50,000 copies, and reaching gold status, Joan received honorary awards from the Newfoundland Easter Seals, followed in 1972 by a Juno nomination. As well in the same year she was awarded Newfoundland’s Musical Ambassador of Good Will by the Provincial Government. Many her of songs are an homage to Newfoundland lifestyle and are still heard on Canadian radio stations today. Some of her most notable songs include “Thank God We’re Surrounded by Water”, and “CN Bus”. A recently published biography, Yes My Dear…, was nominated for the 2005 Heritage and History Award for Newfoundland and Labrador. Written by her eldest daughter Debbie Morrissey.

Her son Tom Morrissey jr. Guitar and Vocals born in Newfoundland is now living in British Columbia playing his moms songs to a new generation.

Shaun Majumder and his friends bring The Gathering on the road. Based on the popular annual festival held in Shaun’s ‘OMEtown of Burlington, this show mixes the laughter and joy of comedy with the relaxation and wonder of music. The tour will be hosted by, and feature Shaun, as well as some of the musical guests who will be performing at this year’s Gathering Festival on August 24-26. Such as ‘Kane and Potvin,’ made up of 90s Canadian rockers Kevin Kane of ‘The Grapes of Wrath’ and Bryan Potvin of ‘The Northen Pikes,’ who have now begun touring the country as a duo. In addition, Shaun will be joined by Steve Poltz, known for his work with the artist ‘Jewel’ and the writer of such chart-toppers as ‘You Were Meant for Me,’ along with Newfoundland and Labrador singer-songwriter Sherman Downey.
